How to make a Damasas Spin Drum and its history

The handmade Damasas Spin Drum instrument is a traditional noisemaker from Peru, but very similar versions are found in Africa and other parts of the world. Its universal appeal may be tracked to the simple way it is played. The beads on the strings act as the drumsticks and generate a perfect drum roll with a constant spin of the drum. At celebrations that call for a noisemaker, the efficient design helps participants to be loud and boisterous.
