SAN JOSE, CA, November 19, 2019 – Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley (BGCSV) will mark its official Grand Opening on December 17th at the Alviso Clubhouse of its newly remodeled technology labs fully sponsored by AMD with a ribbon-cutting event.
“Through AMD’s support, we can ensure the highest quality delivery of our STEM components 21st Century Learning Initiative, which is our suite of STEM, literacy, college and career readiness programs” commented Max Duganne, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley.
The technology lab renovations at the Alviso Clubhouses comes equipped with all new Lenovo desktops and laptops, 3D Printer, and new renovations and furnishings.
These new upgrades to the technology labs will support over 400 Clubhouse youth further develop their technology skills during after-school and summer programing, reducing the digital divide within their youth and help prepare them for future STEM careers, and help offset state budget cuts in feeder schools that have resulted in student to computer ratios that have soared to as high as 30 to 1.
